I just found out how expensive a “free” warranty repair is for a pistol.

UPS is the only carrier who ships firearms. UPS has only one shipping option for guns. Overnight air. $68.50.

My free repair just cost me $68.50. Lovely.

ME: “Why does it have to go overnight air?”

UPS CLERK: “Oh, they want to get guns in and out of the system as quickly as possible. For safety reasons.”

ME:  “Sooooo… They think an unloaded and non-functioning firearm in a box (inside a second box) is going to spontaneously explode? Or are pistols prone to breaking through a plastic case and cardboard, loading themselves with ammo from another shipment, and shooting up the place? Has that happened?”

UPS CLERK: [blinks] “Sir, you do realize that we are your only shipping option for a firearm? Or did you want to drive it to Louisiana yourself?”

ME: **sigh**
